Yul Edochie’s family has reportedly distanced themselves from him amid new allegations of an affair, intensifying the ongoing marital controversies surrounding the Nollywood actor.
According to veteran Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop, the Edochie family disassociated from Yul due to the shame and reproach his recent conduct has brought upon the family name.
Ontop, revealed that Yul is allegedly involved with another woman, adding complexity to the turbulent situation.
The report suggests that his family supports only his first wife, May Edochie, and disapproves of his second marriage to Judy Austin as well as the ensuing scandals.
The controversy dates back to April 2022 when Yul publicly announced Judy Austin as his second wife, a revelation that deeply strained his marriage to May, who later filed for divorce in August 2023. May also took legal steps demanding ₦100 million in damages from Judy Austin for adultery.
Despite these issues, Yul and Judy welcomed their first child together in November 2021, months before making their union public. The family’s disownment marks a significant fallout, as the Edochies are a prominent and respected family in the Nigerian film industry.
Public reaction has been mixed, with some fans expressing disappointment and urging Yul to reconcile with his family and first wife, while others believe the matter should remain private.
