Social activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), led a protest in Auchi, Edo State, on Monday to block Dangote trucks from using the roads.

This action was taken to demand that the Dangote company take responsibility for accident victims, specifically to settle medical bills and provide compensation.

The protest was sparked by the case of Ruth Otabor, sister of BBNaija winner Phyna, whose leg was amputated after being crushed by a Dangote truck shortly after her graduation.

VDM, with support from students of Auchi Polytechnic, insisted that Dangote must pay Ruth’s medical bills and other victims’ compensation, regulate its drivers, and take full responsibility for accidents involving its trucks.

The protest followed a tragic accident near Omega Fire Ministry, Auchi, where a Dangote truck and another vehicle collided with a Mercedes Benz GLK, resulting in the deaths of three people.

Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministry condemned the reckless driving that led to the loss of lives.
VDM vowed that Dangote trucks would not be allowed to ply Auchi roads until justice is served and adequate compensation is given to the victims.

The protest drew significant attention and support from netizens who praised VDM’s activism and efforts to seek justice for accident victims in Auchi.
