Ubi Franklin has responded firmly to the viral allegations accusing him of stealing a luxury wristwatch during singer Davido’s wedding in Miami. He denied the claims as completely false and misleading, emphasizing that he is not a thief and has never stolen from anyone in his life.
Franklin explained the situation clearly: he was approached by a man named Benny, who offered to sell him a wristwatch. After checking the watch’s ownership, he decided not to buy it to avoid complications but later purchased a different wristwatch from Benny’s brother at the wedding, paying for it in full.
Franklin wore the watch he purchased during the wedding. After leaving Miami to prepare for his sister’s funeral, Benny contacted him about the other wristwatch.
Franklin stressed that Benny himself had earlier debunked the theft claims, affirming that Franklin had bought the watch legally. He described the situation as a difficult and sensitive time for him and his family and stated that this would be his final comment on the matter.
Additionally, Franklin mentioned he knows who fabricated the story and has called out the individuals behind the false allegations. His friend Iyanya also defended him, accusing those within Davido’s circle of fabricating the story to tarnish Franklin’s name.
Davido himself supported Franklin publicly, stating Franklin owes no one an explanation regarding the allegation.
Overall, Ubi Franklin categorically rejected the theft claims, supported by the watch seller Benny and his close associates, calling the whole incident a malicious attempt to smear his reputation.
