Ubi Franklin has publicly denied the allegations that he stole a luxury wristwatch during singer Davido’s wedding in Miami. The controversy arose after claims circulated on social media, alleging that he took a watch without paying for it.

Ubi Franklin clarified the situation by explaining that a man named Benny, the jeweler, had offered to sell him a wristwatch, which Ubi declined after confirming it had previous ownership to avoid complications.

During the wedding, Benny’s brother delivered a different wristwatch to Ubi, which he purchased and paid for in full. Due to the busy circumstances at the wedding, Ubi was in possession of both watches and wore the one he had purchased.

He further explained that he left Miami immediately after the wedding to prepare for his sister’s funeral and was contacted by Benny while airborne about the other watch. Ubi Franklin emphasized that he is not a thief and has never stolen anything, asserting that the claims are false and misleading. He also noted that Benny had already debunked the theft rumors earlier in the day.

Davido also supported Ubi Franklin, saying he owes no one any explanation over the matter. Ubi described this period as extremely difficult and sensitive for him and his family and indicated that this would be his final comment on the issue.
