Tinubu Returns to Abuja After 10-Day Working Visit to Lagos

President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Monday following a ten-day working visit to Lagos, where he engaged in a series of strategic meetings with investors, commissioned key projects, and participated in national events.

According to a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President arrived in Lagos on Friday, September 26, after attending the coronation ceremony of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan.

During his stay in Lagos, President Tinubu held discussions with prominent investors, including Bayo Ogunlesi, CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, Chairman of Metis Capital Partners and former Chairman of United Bank for Africa and Etisalat.

He also welcomed Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and other sector leaders. In their meeting, Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s maritime sector as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

Ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, the President visited Imo State to commission projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and unveiled a book authored by the governor, documenting a decade of All Progressives Congress governance.

President Tinubu delivered his Independence Day address from Dodan Barracks and later inaugurated the refurbished National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts. He encouraged citizens to speak positively about Nigeria and its future.

On Saturday, October 4, Tinubu traveled to Jos, Plateau State, to attend the funeral of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda. At the event, he paid tribute to the late matriarch and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fairness and religious inclusivity across Northern Nigeria.

Upon returning to Abuja, the President met with Bashir Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), at the State House. The meeting focused on the company’s performance, investment strategies, and progress toward meeting national production goals.
