Tinubu Replies Trump: “We Will Defeat Terrorism”
President Bola Tinubu has restated his administration’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism and deepen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement with global partners.
Addressing the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized that his government is actively working with the international community to promote national security, regional stability, and economic development.
“We are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all of you that we will defeat terrorism,” Tinubu declared, underscoring his administration’s stance on counterterrorism and global cooperation.
His remarks follow recent reports that the United States designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC), a classification the Nigerian government has dismissed as a misrepresentation of its security landscape.
Tinubu also praised his cabinet for their dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, urging continued unity and focus in executing reforms. He pointed to the oversubscription of Nigeria’s $2.3 billion Eurobond as evidence of international confidence in the country’s economic direction.
“Despite political headwinds and fears, we will continue to engage with our partners,” he said. “The task ahead is immense, but we are resolved to move forward with unity and purpose.”
Reiterating his administration’s broader vision, Tinubu affirmed his commitment to building a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Nigeria, anchored on transparency, diplomacy, and national security.
