Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has received high praise from Nigerian President Bola Tinubu following her successful completion of cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

The event took place at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, attracting over 20,000 people including fans, food lovers, and prominent Nigerians.

The massive pot, custom-built to be six meters wide, held approximately 22,619 liters of food, using about 200 bags of 20kg Basmati rice, infused with goat meat to create a rich and robust dish.

Speaking through the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, President Tinubu lauded Hilda Baci’s dedication, meticulous preparation, and adherence to hygiene standards.

He described her extraordinary effort as a testament to Nigerian excellence and a demonstration of the unrelenting Nigerian spirit that the world has come to appreciate.

The President’s message emphasized that her achievement represents a national victory, putting Nigeria once again on the global culinary map.

The government pledged support for Hilda’s initiative and similar projects that showcase Nigeria’s culture, creativity, and talent to the world.

The event also featured vibrant cultural displays, music performances, and participation from notable Nigerians, underscoring the significance of the record attempt as more than just a culinary feat, but a celebration of Nigerian heritage and unity.
