TikTok-Arranged Ritual: Boyfriend, Herbalists Confess to Murder of FRSC Officer, Daughter
In a horrifying case of ritual killing, Victor Fajemirokun has confessed to orchestrating the murder of his girlfriend, 38-year-old FRSC officer Funmilayo Lasisi, and her 12-year-old daughter, Sewa, by luring them from Ogun State to Osun under the false pretense of spiritual cleansing.
Paraded alongside herbalists Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James at the Osun State Police Command headquarters on Wednesday, the 40-year-old Fajemirokun explained he was motivated by a spiritualist’s claim that Funmilayo was blocking his progress.
“I met Gboyega Daramola on TikTok,” Fajemirokun said. “He did a spiritual consultation and told me Funmilayo was causing my misfortune. He asked me to bring her for cleansing. I took her and her daughter to his place in Ijebu-Jesa, and he sent us into the bush with three men for rituals. That’s where we killed them.”
After the murders, Fajemirokun fled to a mountain in Ikoyi, then to Ibadan. “It felt like I was hypnotized. I never truly wanted this. I later heard on the news that their organs were harvested—that’s when I decided to return.”
One of the herbalists, Sunday James, also confessed. “My boss, Daramola, ordered me to kill them and threatened me. We took them to the bush, slit their throats with a knife, and dismembered the woman.”
Daramola, however, placed the blame on Fajemirokun, though he denied being present during the killings.
Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, provided a detailed update. He said the investigation began when Fajemirokun was initially reported missing after supposedly going for prayers in Ikoyi.
“On November 16, we arrested Daramola, who confessed that Fajemirokun brought the woman and child for a money ritual,” CP Gotan stated.
Daramola led detectives to Esa-Odo Dam, where Funmilayo’s mutilated remains were recovered—her head, breasts, hands, and private parts had been removed.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Sunday James in Ekiti State. He admitted to slaughtering both victims and guided police to the bush where Sewa’s body was found, also missing her head, hands, and feet.
Fajemirokun fled to Ghana but was tracked and arrested with Interpol assistance, then repatriated to Nigeria.
CP Gotan assured that all suspects would be prosecuted and that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices.
Funmilayo and her daughter had been declared missing on November 2 after leaving their home at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate in Abeokuta and failing to return.
