
Seven feared killed, properties destroyed as Boko Haram attacks Adamawa communities
Seven individuals lost their lives in a tragic attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on two communities in Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State.
The assault took place on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, as the insurgents targeted Banga and Larh communities, employing firearms and explosives to wreak havoc.
Vehicles were bombed along their route, adding to the devastation. While initial accounts from residents indicated six fatalities, the confirmed death toll has now risen to seven.
In Banga, a vigilante was killed by a bomb blast, while two other men were shot dead. A woman also tragically died after falling while attempting to flee. Two fatalities were recorded in nearby Larh.
The attack also left one boy unaccounted for, with reports stating that his phone was ringing but went unanswered when family and friends tried to contact him.
Among the assets destroyed in the assault was a police van from Garaha, which was stationed in Banga and destroyed by a Boko Haram bomb.
The chairman of Hong Local Government Area, Usman Wa’aganda, confirmed the tragic events in a phone interview on Wednesday, stating that seven lives were lost in the insurgent attack.
