Renowned Islamic Scholar, Usman Bauchi, Dies At 98
Nigeria’s renowned Islamic scholar and supreme leader of the Tijaniyyah Sufi order, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has passed away.
He was 98 years.
The news of his death was confirmed by his son, Sayyadi Ali Dahiru Usman Bauchi, in a telephone conversation. “It is confirmed Sheikh has returned to his creator. We are all from Allah and to Him we shall all return,” his son stated.
Reflecting on his father’s legacy, he added, “It is time for Sheikh to rest… Sheikh’s life was well spent. Alhamdulillah.”
The final burial arrangements are yet to be confirmed, with his son noting that a decision will be made on whether the interment will be in Abuja or Bauchi.
The passing of the esteemed cleric marks the end of an era for millions of his followers across Nigeria and beyond.
