The Nigeria Police Force has officially refuted a viral “wanted” poster circulating on social media that falsely claimed Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo had been declared wanted.
The poster also alleged that a bounty had been placed on the actress with a reward for information leading to her arrest.
In a statement on its verified Facebook page, the police described the poster as fake, misleading, and confirmed that it was never posted on any official Nigeria Police Force platform.
The police urged the public to disregard and stop spreading the false information and to verify sensitive news only through official NPF channels.
The police emphasized that the spread of misinformation is a major challenge and warned against amplifying unverified content that could harm reputations.
