PHOTOS: Late Liverpool Star Jota Got Married 2 Weeks ago
Photos from Diogo Jota’s wedding to his long-term girlfriend, Rute Cardoso, in Porto, emerged online shortly after it was confirmed he had passed on.
Jota had tied the knot with Cardoso, the mother of his three children, two weeks ago.
Cardoso had shared images to her Instagram just three days ago of her and Jota enjoying their special day, with the caption: “My dream came true.”
The 28-year-old had also re-shared the post to his Instagram page in a collaboration, which had been his last post on the social media platform
Jota was said to be travelling with his younger brother, André, when their car was involved in a fatal accident on the A-52 motorway, at kilometre 65, near the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria in the province of Zamora, Spain.
He was widely regarded for his tenacity, goal-scoring instinct, and versatility on the pitch for both Liverpool FC and the Portuguese national team.
