Nigerian rapper Oladips recently spoke out to clarify that his detention by the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) was due to unpaid taxes and not because of fraud as some rumors suggested.

His arrest occurred during a raid in November 2024, when EFCC agents entered his estate around 3 a.m. and detained several people, including him, over alleged fraud.

However, after confiscating his phones and conducting an investigation, the EFCC found no evidence of fraud. Instead, they questioned whether he paid his taxes, which led to his detention for tax evasion.

Oladips stated he did not run from the EFCC because he had nothing to hide regarding fraud, emphasizing that the issue was strictly about tax.
