Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro has accused actress Peggy Ovie and her crew of physically assaulting him during a film shoot on Tuesday night.
According to Taye, the incident occurred when he tried to leave the set after his agreed working hours were over.
He claims Peggy Ovie instructed her driver to block his car, and he was attacked by her team, resulting in visible injuries to his lips and gums. Taye also alleged that three of his car tires were deflated to prevent his departure.[gistlover +2]
Peggy Ovie, however, disputes Taye’s account, claiming that he became aggressive first. She alleges that Taye packed his bags and insisted on leaving without prior discussion, despite pleas from the crew to film two short additional scenes to wrap up for the night.
Peggy states that Taye got physical with the production manager and assaulted her driver, who ended up with injuries. She describes the altercation as unexpected and says she intervened during a struggle over car keys.
Peggy emphasizes that Taye was asked to stay briefly and that no one deserves to be treated violently, especially crew members just doing their jobs.
Both parties have shared videos showing their injuries, and the incident has drawn significant attention on social media, sparking discussions about on-set conduct and worker treatment in Nollywood production environments.
In summary, Taye Arimoro accuses Peggy Ovie and her crew of assaulting him and preventing him from leaving the set, while Peggy Ovie counters that Taye became violent first and assaulted crew members after refusing to complete additional scenes.
