Nigerian Army Releases Shortlist for Combatant Course 49/2026

The Nigerian Army has published the list of shortlisted candidates for its Short Service Combatant Commission Course 49/2026. The full list is available on the official recruitment portal: recruitment.army.mil.ng.

According to a statement from the Military Secretary (Army), all shortlisted candidates are to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Ribadu Campus, in Kaduna State on December 1, 2025.

Candidates are advised to arrive in Kaduna by November 30th and must report at the Selection Board venue between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on the reporting day. The Army emphasized that latecomers will be automatically disqualified.

The selection process will involve document verification, physical and medical tests, academic assessments, and an oral interview. Candidates are required to bring original and photocopied documents, including:

All academic and professional certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate,Valid birth certificate, Certificate of state of origin, BVN printout and NIN slip

Additionally, candidates must come prepared with specific personal items, such as writing materials, blue shorts, white T-shirts, white canvas shoes, toiletries, and beddings.

A critical requirement is a duly signed Letter of Consent from a parent or guardian, made in a recognized court of law, declaring they will not seek compensation for any injury or death sustained during the exercise.

The Army stated that while it will provide accommodation and feeding, candidates are responsible for their own transportation. The use of private vehicles and visits from outsiders are prohibited for the duration of the selection board.

The statement concluded with a strict warning that a high standard of discipline is expected and that any violation of instructions will lead to disqualification.
