Ned Nwoko, a Nigerian senator, has sparked a debate in 2025 by advocating for polygamy, urging men to marry multiple wives.
In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, he expressed that men with only one wife deserve pity because having multiple wives provides greater balance and stability, likening it to standing on multiple legs rather than one.
He cited the Old Testament in defense of polygamy, stating it is not a sin and emphasized his deep belief in the practice, coming from a polygamous background.
Nwoko insisted that polygamy promotes harmony and fulfillment in the home and said he has no regrets about marrying multiple wives and would do it again.
He also denied recent domestic violence allegations from his wife, Regina Daniels, describing himself as a man who respects and loves his wives and children.
His comments have reignited discussions on the topic amid his ongoing marital crisis with Regina.
