Mikel Obi has urged the Nigerian government to dissolve the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board if the Super Eagles fail to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
He stated that the entire NFF board must be held accountable and replaced, as it is unacceptable for the leadership to continue following past failures like missing the 2022 World Cup.
Mikel highlighted that while players bear some responsibility, the bigger problem rests with the NFF leadership’s management and decisions.
He called for urgent and drastic changes to improve Nigerian football’s future and avoid further disappointments.
This call for action came amid Nigeria’s challenging qualification campaign and widespread calls for reform in Nigerian football administration.
