Leadership Change At C & S Unification Church Of Nigeria As Baba Alao Set To Step Down For Prophet Alogbo
In accordance with the Constitution of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, His Most Eminence, Prophet Dr. Solomon Adegboyega Alao is set to formally step down as the Supreme Head of the Church.
His successor, His Grace, Prophet Dr. Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo (JP), FNACM, currently the Baba Aladura of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O), will be inaugurated on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Seraphim Land, Kilometer 40, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
This transition follows Prophet Alao’s earlier announcement that he would relinquish leadership after the centenary celebration of the C&S worldwide, founded by St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase on September 9, 1925.
Prophet Alao will become the first Supreme Head to personally anoint his successor, a departure from previous transitions where leaders passed on during their tenure.
Prophet Alao Predecessors include:  Her Most Eminence (Dr.) Captain Christiana Abiodun Emanuel (1986–1996); His Most Eminence Amos Afolabi Ogunkunle (1996–2004);  His Eminence Abel Olujimi Akinsanya (2005–2014).
By September 20, 2025, when he will hand over to Prophet Alogbo, Baba Alao will have served for 11 years, overseeing a period of unity and transformation within the church.
The C&S Unification Church, officially registered on September 9, 1999, serves as the umbrella body for all Cherubim and Seraphim churches worldwide.
Under its leadership, the church has embarked on numerous developmental projects and fostered greater cohesion among its branches.
In anticipation of the historic inauguration, the C&S Movement Church has begun mobilising members and issued formal communications across its platforms.
A letter signed by Snr. Sp. Ap. Pro. (Dr.) Anthony Olusesan Samaye, Secretary General of the Church, described the appointment of Prophet Alogbo as a divinely orchestrated milestone in the spiritual journey of the church.
The letter reads in part: “It is with immeasurable joy and gratitude to God that we officially announce a momentous and historic development in the life of our great Church.
“Following a divine directive from the Ecclesiastical Council of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, and in light of the voluntary retirement of the incumbent Olori, our revered Spiritual Father, His Grace, Prophet Dr. Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo (JP), FNACM, has been appointed as the next Supreme Head (Olori) of C&S Unification Church of Nigeria.
