A South Korean influencer named Yoon Ji-ah was brutally murdered just 30 minutes after finishing her final livestream on September 11, 2025.
She was strangled to death by a 50-year-old man known as Choi, who was an obsessive “VIP” fan of hers and portrayed himself as a wealthy IT executive but was actually drowning in debt.
Yoon’s body was found inside a suitcase in a remote mountainous area of Muju County, North Jeolla Province, roughly three hours away by car from where she livestreamed.
The suspect had a controlling and coercive relationship with Yoon and reportedly became violent after she attempted to end their partnership.
CCTV footage captured distressing moments of Yoon trying to escape from Choi’s car on the day of her death.
The case has shocked South Korea’s entertainment and streaming communities and led to public calls for full accountability for Choi.
