Just-In: Tension As Security Blocks Natasha At NASS Gate
The entrance of the National Assembly complex in Abuja became a flashpoint on Tuesday after security personnel refused entry to suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Arriving with a group of vocal supporters, including prominent activist Aisha Yesufu, rights advocate Mama P, and fellow campaigner Randy, the senator faced resistance from officers stationed at the gate.
The gathering drew attention as Yesufu engaged the security team, vocally challenging what she described as an unjust directive barring Natasha’s access
“National Assembly is meant to be for everyone. Why are you stopping us?
“We are not abiding doesn’t mean we are cowards,” she asked.
The standoff quickly escalated as some supporters began chanting “Push!” while attempting to force their way in.
Natasha’s supporters were later seen marching toward the complex, chanting solidarity songs.
