Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci recently conducted a test run with a giant pot of Jollof rice ahead of her official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest pot of Jollof rice.
The test was to check readiness, including heat distribution, tools, and overall logistics to ensure the success of the challenge.
The official record attempt is scheduled for September 12, 2025, during the Gino World Jollof Festival at Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The giant pot for the event is a massive 6 meters wide and 6 meters tall. Hilda Baci described the project as a cultural celebration of West Africa’s iconic dish and a reflection of their food, culture, and music.
This attempt comes less than two years after Hilda gained worldwide attention for her record-breaking 100-hour cooking marathon. The giant pot test run was part of preparations to ensure a smooth and successful event on the official day.
