“Funke Akindele paid me N190K, not N90K” – Ijoba Lande pleads

Controversial Nollywood actor Ijoba Lande has retracted his earlier claim that actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele paid him a meager ₦90,000 for a month’s work on her movie set.

This reversal comes after he faced significant backlash for his initial statement, which many perceived as an insult to Akindele’s reputation.

In a new video released on Friday, Lande clarified that he actually received ₦190,000, not ₦90,000. He attributed the confusion to poor editing of the original video, which led to the incorrect figure being highlighted.

Speaking in Yoruba, Lande emotionally appealed to Akindele for forgiveness, stressing that he never intended to tarnish her image.

“Funke Akindele gave me ₦190,000, not ₦90,000. Please help me beg Aunty Funke. The video was cut and joined, which led to the mistake. People only shared the part where I misspoke and not where I corrected myself. Please, forgive me. I don’t want to go to jail,” he pleaded.

Captioning the video, he added, “Make God no let my mouth 👄 put me for big trouble oooh. I know mean it this way oooh pls help me beg @funkejenifaakindele pls I’m very sorry mama I didn’t mean it this way pls forgive me mama.”
