From Kunu Hawker To Global Hero: The Inspiring Testimony of Rasheedat Ajibade

At the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries’ Prayer City in Ogun State, Nigerian football star Rasheedat Ajibade delivered a moving testimony during the August edition of the church’s monthly Power Must Change Hands programme.

The Super Falcons captain, who led Nigeria to its historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, reflected on her humble beginnings and the role of faith in her rise to international stardom.

Ajibade, now a forward for Atlético Madrid in Spain’s Liga F, revealed that she once hawked olive oil, kunu, and zobo drinks within the church premises during deliverance programmes.

“Whenever things are tough at my club or with the national team, I pray,” she told the congregation. “I do my part through hard work but never forget to seek God’s help.”

Her message was one of perseverance and hope: “I was once one of those young girls out there hawking olive oil, kunu, and zobo drinks… but today, I give glory to God. Please, don’t give up—keep praying, keep fasting, keep working, and keep believing.”
