Nigerian rapper Erigga has publicly spoken out about the ongoing feud between fellow hip-hop artists Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck, describing it as harmful to the culture rather than beneficial.
In a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Erigga expressed that the feud has created unnecessary tension within the Nigerian rap community, pushing artists and fans to take sides and fueling division.
He criticized the role of fans, emphasizing that many enjoy the drama of the conflict more than supporting unity within the industry.
Erigga noted that while rap battles and rivalries are a traditional part of hip-hop, prolonged and bitter disputes rarely bring lasting benefits to the culture.
He stressed that the ongoing beef between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck distracts from genuine appreciation and celebration of hip-hop music, as many people are more interested in conflict than in positive developments.
Erigga, who has no personal ties to either rapper, urged fans and industry stakeholders to look beyond the lyrical clashes, warning that the fight does more harm than good by allowing outsiders to interfere and shaping a negative atmosphere in Nigerian hip-hop.
He concluded that although rivalry can sometimes spark creativity, the current situation has gone beyond a simple rap beef and is damaging the overall growth and unity of the music scene.
Erigga’s remarks serve as a call for healing and focus on what truly strengthens Nigerian hip-hop culture amid the drama between these two influential artists.
