VeryDarkMan, a popular social media critic, has publicly accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of unlawfully seizing his phones since his arrest in May 2025 and refusing to return them.

In a video, he demanded that EFCC either prosecute him in court or return his phones immediately, emphasizing that the phones are critical for his business activities, including helping Nigerian youths connect with Chinese manufacturers for entrepreneurial opportunities.

Despite not being charged or taken to court, EFCC has kept his phones, limiting his ability to assist others and fueling speculation that influential business interests may be blocking the return of his devices.

The EFCC has also not disclosed his alleged offense publicly.

This drama has triggered mixed reactions online, with some questioning EFCC’s right to hold his phones and others suspecting interference from powerful business figures.

VeryDarkMan also warned EFCC against publishing a photo of him allegedly linked to money laundering, which he denies, and threatened legal action if such misinformation is spread.

His lawyer confirmed that his phone and car remain in EFCC possession despite bail being granted.

In summary, VeryDarkMan’s conflict with EFCC centers on the withholding of his phones since May arrest without formal charges or prosecution, affecting his business operations and prompting public demands for resolution or court action.
