Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against Pastor Chris Okafor of Grace Nation International over an alleged broken promise to marry her.

The legal action, detailed in a demand letter dated December 16, 2025, from Synergy Law Partners, claims the relationship began in 2017 when Okafor provided pastoral support during Ogala’s marital issues.

It alleges he made a clear promise to marry her, evidenced by family introductions, event photos, and her wearing “family dress,” leading her to leave her troubled marriage and transfer ₦45 million to him.

Ogala seeks compensation within 21 days for emotional distress, reputational harm, psychological trauma, and unauthorized sharing of private photos.

The breach occurred after Okafor’s public engagement announcement to another woman, causing public scrutiny and online harassment. Evidence includes photos, videos, WhatsApp messages, and banking records supporting her claims.

The suit highlights “life-threatening health consequences” like suicidal ideations and panic attacks for Ogala.

Ogala shared the letter on Instagram, sparking mixed online responses amid her prior emotional video vowing to disrupt Okafor’s wedding. No response from Pastor Okafor has been reported as of December 18, 2025.
