Cubana Chief Priest responded to billionaire businessman Cosmas Maduka by telling him, “You’re an Nnewi-list billionaire, not Otedola level,” implying that Maduka belongs to a different echelon of wealth compared to prominent billionaires like Femi Otedola and Tony Elumelu.

The exchange originated from Maduka criticizing Cubana Chief Priest’s popular slogan “money na water,” saying no genuinely wealthy person would use such a phrase.

Cubana Chief Priest defended the slogan by explaining that in today’s digital economy, visibility and attention are key capital, contrasting it with the traditional wealth built quietly on factories, fleets, and real estate.

He argued that “visibility has become the new currency,” and that attention drives sales, influence, and social impact in the modern age.

He further urged Maduka to remove himself from the Otedola and Elumelu list, stating he belongs to the “Nnewi-list billionaire” category, which reflects a different class or style of wealth.

This feud highlights a divide between the old-school quiet wealth ideal and the new school emphasis on digital presence and attention as measures of wealth.
