Breaking: Police fire teargas to disperse protesters In Port Harcourt
The Rivers State Police Command on Monday used teargas to disperse protesters at Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The demonstrators, affiliated with the ‘Take It Back Movement,’ arrived at the venue as early as 9 a.m., only to encounter a significant police presence.
Confronted by warnings from the authorities against holding their protest, the protesters resisted, asserting, “We are Rivers people, no one can dictate where we gather.”
The situation escalated as police officers pursued the protesters, reportedly assaulting several of them, including journalists covering the event.
