Breaking: INEC Chair, Yakubu Hands Over to Agbamuche as Acting INEC Chairman

Professor Mahmood Yakubu has officially transferred leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to May Agbamuche, who now serves as Acting National Chairman.

Agbamuche holds the distinction of being the longest-serving National Commissioner within the commission.

The announcement was made by Professor Yakubu on Tuesday during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at INEC’s headquarters in Abuja.

He called on commissioners and directors to extend their full support to Agbamuche as she assumes the role, pending the appointment of a substantive chairman.
