BBNaija’s Nelly: How family issues led to my breakup with Sooj

Nelly Mbonu, the former BBNaija housemate, has finally addressed the breakup with her on-screen love interest Sooj.

The pair, fondly called ‘Solly’ by fans, became one of the most talked-about couples during the ‘No Loose Guard’ season.

At the recently concluded reunion show, Nelly confirmed that their relationship lasted beyond the show but ended two months ago by her decision.

When pressed by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu for details, she remained tight-lipped, calling it a “family matter” between her and Sooj.

She admitted ignoring public skepticism about their romance, with many predicting it wouldn’t last outside the house.

“Things went south just about two months ago. I was into him, he was into me, we had a good relationship. In fact between us, one of the most perfect relationships,” she said.

“I did not care about what anybody had to say because everybody had this opinion that we were fake, we were not serious, once we went out of the house, it was going to go south.

“But that was not the main thing, we already knew what we wanted and I just felt on the long run we needed to chill. A lot of things happened but I cannot tell you that because it is a family matter.

When Ebuka asked Sooj if he did anything to cause the breakup, he denied any wrongdoing, leaving the reason for their split unresolved.
