The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that despite endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election, the party’s presidential ticket remains open to all aspirants.
The APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Mohammad Argungu, emphasized that anyone wishing to contest for the presidency under the APC will have the opportunity to purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms and exercise their franchise.
The party is committed to democratic principles and will not close its doors to competition during the primaries, even though Tinubu has received wide recognition and various endorsements within the party.
The endorsements for Tinubu by party organs and various state and regional caucuses are seen as appreciation of his leadership rather than a closure of the contest to other aspirants .
