ADC Will Send Tinubu Out Of Aso Rock In 2027 – Okonkwo
Nollywood veteran turned politician Kenneth Okonkwo has vowed that the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) will win the 2027 elections and send President Bola Tinubu packing of the Aso Rock.
He made this declaration during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise programme on Monday.
The ADC had earlier stated that its performance in the August 16 by-elections, held across 16 constituencies, should not define the party’s future prospects.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the ADC failed to secure any seats, while the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won 12 out of the 16 seats across nine states.
When asked about the ADC’s chances in the 2027 polls, Okonkwo affirmed, “We have a chance in every election in Nigeria.”
However, he acknowledged some uncertainty regarding elections with primaries conducted before the party’s new leadership under David Mark took over.
“I cannot say the same for elections where primaries were held before David Bach’s leadership began, since we were not part of those decisions. That’s why the real test for ADC will be in 2027,” he said.
“We are determined to form the next government in Nigeria and send Tinubu to Bourdillon,” Okonkwo added.
On the party’s presence in Rivers State, he confirmed that the ADC now operates in all 36 states of the federation, identifying Rotimi Amaechi as the key party leader in Rivers.
