BB Naija Star Queen Mercy Atang Declares Marriage Over With David Oyekanmi
Big Brother Naija star Queen Mercy Atang has officially confirmed the end of her marriage to David Oyekanmi.
The reality TV personality addressed her relationship status in a recent, since-deleted Instagram comment. Responding to a fan’s question, “Queen, hope you are still married because you are too beautiful to be single,” she wrote plainly, “Single and unavailable.”
This confirmation follows months of speculation, which began in August when the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. Queen later removed all wedding-related photos and videos from her social media profiles.
Their relationship was a whirlwind: after getting engaged in February 2024, the pair held their traditional, court, and white wedding ceremonies all within the same year.
In past interviews, Queen had shared that she sought divine confirmation before accepting David’s proposal, stating she asked God for three signs. Although they had been friends since meeting at a beauty pageant in 2016, she admitted, “I never really thought David would be my husband” until receiving what she described as the final confirmation.
