Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Cole Palmer is available and could start in Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Leeds United at Elland Road.

Palmer, sidelined for over two months with a groin injury from Chelsea’s September 20 loss to Manchester United and a subsequent fractured toe from a home accident, was an unused substitute in the recent 1-1 draw with Arsenal after playing with 10 men.

Maresca emphasized a gradual return to build Palmer’s fitness for full 90-minute games, stating, “He is available… The idea is to give him some minutes until he can play 90 minutes.”

Chelsea face absences in midfield with Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo out due to thigh issues, Moises Caicedo suspended after his red card against Arsenal, and long-term knee injury absentee Levi Colwill.

Despite these setbacks, Maresca views Palmer’s return as key, noting the team is stronger with him involved. The match offers Palmer his first competitive minutes since mid-September.
