Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, has taken formal legal steps to prevent unauthorized claims on the late singer’s estate.
She filed a notification at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja on November 19, 2025, to safeguard the estate from any unlawful claims.
The notice, supported by Forms 5 and 6, bars the issuance of Letters of Administration to anyone other than the rightful beneficiaries, which include her as the legal wife and their only surviving child, Master Liam Aloba.
She also ensured public announcements were placed in national newspapers to warn against fraudulent claims.
Her legal team emphasized that the caveat remains valid in court and must be respected until the estate is properly administered, with no irregular claims entertained given the presence of the lawful wife and child.
This move aims to secure the late singer’s assets amidst ongoing family disputes and public interest concerning his estate.
Additionally, her lawyers have urged the Probate Registry to reject any applications for estate control not submitted by the legal beneficiaries.
The legal action was taken to prevent “surreptitious or fraudulent attempts” to control the estate, reinforcing the protection of the widow’s and child’s inheritance rights.
In summary, Mohbad’s widow is actively using legal mechanisms such as filing caveats, submitting required legal forms, and making public announcements to uphold her and her son’s rights, effectively blocking any unauthorized claims on the late singer’s estate.
