BREAKING: 24 Abducted Kebbi Schoolgirls Regain Freedom
The 24 students abducted from the Government Girls Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, have been successfully rescued and have regained their freedom.
According to security sources the girls were released through a coordinated, non-kinetic operation led by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Department of State Services (DSS).
This approach, which emphasizes dialogue and negotiation over military force, marks a significant strategic shift in the government’s response to mass abductions.
While specific details of the operation remain limited, the successful outcome brings a major relief to the families and the community of Maga.
The abduction had sparked national outrage and prompted a high-level security response, including a direct order from the Chief of Army Staff for intensified rescue efforts. An official statement from the government is expected later today.
