Toke Makinwa does not bathe her newborn every day because she believes that excessive bathing can cause skin irritation and other skin problems in babies.
She explains that newborns have very delicate skin, and daily baths can remove the natural oils and moisture that protect their skin.
Toke shared that her baby, Yaya, did not have daily baths in the first few months and was sometimes bathed only once a week, with plans to gradually introduce daily baths when the baby is around four to six months old.
She emphasizes that babies are naturally clean as they have been inside the womb and are not exposed to dirt in the way many think.
Her approach is based on observation and learning as a new mom, advocating for what works best for her baby’s skin health.
