Davido’s concert in Enugu on November 1, 2025, was widely criticized by fans for a “total security failure” that led to chaotic scenes.
The concert attracted over 40,000 people, nearly double the venue’s 20,000 capacity, resulting in overcrowding and confusion. Many attendees reported that gates were broken down by the crowd, allowing people without tickets to enter.
Security was described as weak and inadequate, with some fans alleging theft, harassment, and a lack of effective crowd control throughout the event.
There were reports of fans being pressed in the crowd, with some women subjected to inappropriate touching and harassment.
Security personnel reportedly used tasers and canes in an attempt to manage the crowd but ultimately abandoned certain gates due to the pressure from the mass of people.
Attendees also complained about a significant delay, with Davido only appearing onstage around 3 a.m., almost 12 hours after the scheduled start at 4 p.m., which added to the frustration and safety concerns.
Social media was flooded with distressing accounts of people falling, being robbed, and feeling unsafe. Videos showed theft incidents and people losing personal belongings such as wigs and phones.
Fans called for accountability and better security planning from the organizers as the event’s mishandling overshadowed the excitement of the concert.
