Rapper Nicki Minaj risks losing her $20 million Hidden Hills mansion in Los Angeles due to a lawsuit fallout involving an unpaid debt.
The case stems from a 2019 assault incident where her husband, Kenneth Petty, allegedly punched a security guard, Thomas Weidenmüller, backstage during a tour in Germany.
A court ordered Minaj and Petty to pay $503,318 to Weidenmüller, who suffered severe injuries including a broken jaw requiring surgery.
Minaj and her husband have not paid this debt. As a result, Weidenmüller’s lawyers are seeking a court order to sell Minaj’s mansion to recover the money.
The mansion is valued at about $20 million, with around $13 million mortgage debt, leaving about $6 million in equity that could cover the judgment, interest, and enforcement costs. Despite multiple payment requests, Minaj has refused to pay, prompting the legal move.
If the court approves, the mansion may be placed under judicial supervision and sold publicly to satisfy the judgment, a rare and significant legal action given Minaj’s estimated net worth of $150-190 million and her status as a top-earning female rapper. Neither Minaj nor Petty has publicly commented on the proceedings yet.
This legal development is among other controversies for the rapper in 2025 and could become a highly publicized case regarding property enforcement in celebrity debt disputes.
