The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to $10,000 (approximately ₦14 million) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Olumide Adebiyi Adediran, a Nigerian national who has been on the run for more than two decades.

Adediran is wanted for violating conditions of release and facing serious federal charges, including bank fraud, identification document fraud, and credit card fraud.

According to the FBI, in August 2001, Adediran entered a bank in Champaign, Illinois, attempting to withdraw funds using a deposited fraudulent check.

He is also accused of using stolen personal information from U.S. citizens to open bank and credit accounts illicitly.

Just days before his federal trial was set to begin in late December 2001, Adediran fled the Central District of Illinois, violating the terms of his release and becoming a fugitive.

A federal arrest warrant was issued for Adediran on January 2, 2002, by the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois in Urbana.

He is described as a 5’11”, 200-pound Black male with black hair and brown eyes, born on October 11, 1968, and known to have ties to South Florida.

The FBI urges anyone with information about Adediran’s whereabouts to contact their local FBI office, the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate, or submit a tip anonymously through the FBI’s website.
