Kechi Okwuchi, the Sosoliso Plane crash survivor and singer, recently underwent eyelid surgery due to the skin on her eyelids becoming tight, which made it difficult for her to close her eyes or blink properly.
This condition was starting to affect her eyesight, necessitating the procedure.
This surgery was her first since 2019 and adds to the approximately 140 reconstructive surgeries she has had since surviving the tragic crash in December 2005 that claimed the lives of 107 people, including most of her schoolmates.
She shared updates about the surgery from her hospital bed, expressing her positivity despite the long medical journey.
Her story remains a remarkable testament to resilience and ongoing recovery from severe burn injuries sustained in the crash.
