Nigerian chef Damilola Adeparusi, known as Chef Dammy, has opened up about the harsh reality she faced after her 2023 cook-a-thon attempt went viral.

She revealed that the cyberbullying and social media backlash left her overwhelmed and mentally broken.

Beyond online harassment, Chef Dammy shared that she was also physically bullied and assaulted in real life, which compounded the emotional toll.

She described how the experience made her feel broken and at a point, prayed to God to let her “forget some things” because the pressure was so intense.

Over time, she has healed enough to talk about it without crying but emphasizes how social media negatively affected her mental health during that period.

She also noted that she did not initially expect the cook-a-thon to go viral or attract such attention and had not informed her parents beforehand about it .
