2Baba’s iconic song “African Queen” has been crowned as Billboard’s Greatest Afrobeats Song Ever in their recently released list of the Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs of All-Time.
The ranking, curated by Billboard staff, places “African Queen” at the very top, recognizing its enduring legacy and cultural significance in shaping the Afrobeats genre and paving the way for its global recognition.
The list also features other notable Afrobeats artists and their hits, with Wizkid being the only artist with two entries in the top 10—his tracks “Ojuelegba” at number 2 and “Essence” featuring Tems at number 5.
Following “African Queen,” other top-ranked songs include Flavour’s “Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)” at number 3, Rema’s “Calm Down” at number 4, and CKay’s “Love Nwantiti” at number 6.
The list highlights the diversity and rich history of Afrobeats, dominated by Nigerian artists with significant contributions from Ghanaian talents as well.
