APC Ogun Suspends Gbenga Daniel, Folarin For Anti-Party Activities
The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended former governor of the state, Senator Gbenga Daniel and his political associate, Hon. Kunle Folarin, citing allegations of anti-party activities.
This action was ratified by the State Working Committee (SWC), led by Chief Yemi Sanusi, following disciplinary proceedings initiated by Ward 4 and Ward 6 in Sagamu Local Government Area.
During its August 19 meeting, attended by 16 members, the SWC reviewed reports from the ward-level panels, which accused the two politicians of misconduct and of attempting to coerce party members into retracting petitions filed against them.
Despite being summoned to appear before the panels or submit written defenses, both Daniel and Folarin reportedly failed to respond.
The committees further alleged that the duo harassed certain party members in an effort to obstruct the disciplinary process.
After evaluating the evidence and testimonies presented, the committees recommended their indefinite suspension, pending further investigation.
The SWC stated that its endorsement of the suspension was essential to uphold the party’s constitution and reinforce internal discipline.
Confirming the development, APC’s State Director of Publicity, Nuberu Olufemi, emphasised the party’s commitment to fairness, accountability, and adherence to its established rules and principles.
