Manchester United have lowered the asking price for Rasmus Højlund amid interest from Serie A clubs.

Following his recent goal against Bournemouth, Højlund expressed his intention to remain at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the team. The Danish striker scored 16 goals in his debut season at Manchester United but had a less impressive second season, netting just 10 goals in 52 matches across all competitions.

According to the BBC via Sportal, Manchester United are willing to sell Højlund for £30 million—a figure that is less than half of the £72 million they initially paid Atalanta two years ago, which included £64 million upfront and £8 million in bonuses.

The club has already spent £130 million this summer on new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo as they look to strengthen their attacking options. Manchester United are currently competing with Newcastle for Benjamin Šeško, with Ollie Watkins considered as a backup.

With Højlund’s future uncertain, Serie A teams have reportedly made inquiries, and a transfer could be imminent in the coming weeks. This move would allow Manchester United to balance their squad and finances as they prepare for major changes upfront.
