Meranda resigns, re-elected as Deputy Speaker
Mojisola Meranda has resigned as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“This is a notice of resignation as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly,” Meranda read her resignation letter out at the plenary Monday on afternoon,” she said at a special plenary on Monday.
Meranda assumed office on January 13, 2025, following the removal of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, who is reportedly poised for reinstatement.
She has however, re-elected as the Deputy Speaker for Mudashir Obasa to continue with the plenary.
He is also expected to resign to pave way for a new Speaker on Wednesday
