Osimhen Says Yes To Galatasaray

Today, Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport reported that Victor Osimhen has finally agreed to continue to play for Galatasaray.

Galatasaray will therefore now step up their negotiations with Napoli for the striker’s transfer fee.

The Turkish champions want a discount on the 75 Million Euros release clause stipulated by Napoli, asking to pay between 50 and 60 Million Euros, and even this will be paid over several instalments.

They have also offered Osimhen an annual salary of 16 Million Euros over four years.

Corriere dello Sport said Osimhen’s green light is the turning point of what has turned out to be a soap opera concerning his future.

“And as always, as always for the last two years, everything revolves around Victor Osimhen,” the newspaper reported.

“The turning point, however, seems close: It’s called Galatasaray.

“It seems so, yes, because Victor is not an ordinary player on the pitch and even an ordinary 26-year-old boy: He’s faithful to his principles, he has his aspirations and ideas so clear to lead him to refuse the oil well offered by Al Hilal in the form of a salary of 40 Million per season for three years plus an option on the fourth.”

The publication added: “Osi intends to continue playing for Galatasaray.

“In Istanbul, the city of new joy after a season full of tension in Naples since the arrival of (coach) Garcia, they have tried to convince him in every way since the end of the championship and to encourage him, they went as far as to offer him a salary of 16 Million per season.”

However, the newspaper also reported that the problem now would be for Galatasaray to get a discount from Napoli on the 75 Million Euros.

“Napoli, we were saying, does not give discounts: to buy him an agreement will not be needed and there will be no discounts, you will have to show up to De Laurentiis (Napoli President) with the 75 Million Euros needed to activate the termination clause.”
