Police Arrest Man with Severed Human Breast In Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has announced the arrest of a 25-year-old man found in possession of a severed female breast in the Awada area.

In a statement released on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the suspect, identified as Samuel Eze, was apprehended on July 6 by a joint patrol team. The recovered human body part has since been deposited in a morgue, and investigations are currently underway.

In a separate incident, Ikenga reported that operatives from the Rapid Response Squad successfully rescued a kidnapped truck driver and recovered goods valued at over ₦9.5 million. The operation, which followed a tip-off, was carried out at 12:45 p.m. on July 4

He said three suspects, identified as Udegenyi Ugochukwu, 38; Anayochukwu Okonkwo, 47; and Good Odigili, 47; were arrested in connection with the crime.

“The suspects confessed that they diverted a truck loaded with custard powder meant for delivery in Asaba, Delta state,” the statement reads.

“They tied the driver in the bush and diverted the goods to Enugwu-Ukwu.”

Ikenga noted that the command also recovered a suspected stolen vehicle (a custom-coloured Toyota Sienna, with registration number 736 JP, with a ‘forum of accountants Delta state’ inscription) on July 5 while on patrol along Okpuno-Umuota village in Obosi.

He urged anyone with proof of ownership to visit the command for verification and possible collection.

The police spokesperson added that the command will continue its joint security patrols to curb insecurity in the state.
