Just In: Police Block Access to PDP Secretariat Ahead of Disputed Meeting
There is heavy deployment of armed police officers around Wadata Plaza—the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja—amid escalating tension surrounding today’s scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
According to a party official who spoke to reporters, the security presence is intended to prevent the planned NEC Expanded Caucus Meeting from taking place.
Despite the heightened security, some PDP staff members were permitted to enter the secretariat freely. Officers were also observed barricading Dalaba Street, the main access route to the PDP headquarters.
