Defections: PDP NWC convenes emergency meeting in Abuja
The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday convened an emergency meeting following the recent wave of defections that hit the party.
The meeting is currently taking place behind closed doors at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
Recall that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and a Member of the Representatives from Osun State, Hon. Wole Oke dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development has sparked reactions from various quarters, with the opposition accusing the ruling APC of arm-twisting opposition stalwarts to join its fold.
The ruling APC has refuted the claims, accusing the opposition of hypocrisy.
